Just at the entrance of Point Place on Summit street was an amusement park called Willow Beach (now Cullen Park). There were many rides, including a roller coaster, bumper cars, and all types of family fun. There was a dance pavilion for the adults as well as a casino. Willow Beach opened the summer of 1929 and closed its doors for good around 1947 after a sequence of unfortunate events. While Willow Beach has taken its place deep in the history books, those that were there often talk about the park being the talk of the town during its heyday.
